sheild“This God – his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.” Psalms 18:30

God’s way is perfect.
Man’s way is not.

God’s way is always better. He sees the BIG picture. He knows the future. He has a plan.
Man’s way seems right, but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 14:12). We do not see the big picture, nor do we know the future.

God’s word never fails. His love never fails. His love is unconditional. His word is trustworthy.
People fail us. Over and Over. Man’s love is conditional. People will let us down. They can lie to us, cheat us, and stab us in the back.

God is our protector, no matter the storm. We will face struggles, but we are never alone.
Those who are not in Christ do not have refuge in him. They will try to succeed on their own, but will always have an emptiness that can only be filled with God.

What does it take to be in Christ? A child of God?

Admitting you are a sinner. Confessing those sins to God, saying you are sorry, seeking forgiveness, reptenting. You must believe that Jesus Christ took your place on the cross. He took your penalty! He loved you THAT much! It is a free gift. Salvation is available to all who put their trust in Christ. We are ALL sinners. NONE of us are a “good person.” Sure, we may seem good compared to murderers, etc, but none of us are good enough for God. We have all broken the commandments. We have probably ALL told a lie. If you say, no, you are lying. That one lie is enough to keep us from heaven. That one lie is enough to send us to hell.

Being a Christian is MORE than believing in God, Jesus, or the Bible… for even the demons believe. (James 2:19)

This verse is a wonderful reassurance to those in Christ. God is ALWAYS with us. He will always give us the strength and courage we need. He will ALWAYS be our shield! Will YOU accept Him today?
