What is love?

heartsI hope that everyone had a nice Valentine’s. Whether you are single, dating, engaged, or married, I am sure you have someone who loves you alot. There is someone even greater who loves you so much, he was willing to give his life to save you. That person is

Jesus.

“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. (10) In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins….(19) We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:9-10,19

You see, the truth is, the only reason we can celebrate this overly cheesy, just want to make money, holiday (haha in my opinion ūüėČ ) is because of God and HIS love. He loves us first. He created man in His own image. Through God, we have life. Through God, we can love. Through God, we have people around us to love. Without God, we are nothing. Without God, we would not even have breath.

If you were single on Valentines and felt left out, or hate that day because it makes you feel like a sore sticking out among a sea of cheesy love… remember:

“For¬†God so loved¬†the world,¬†that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not¬†perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

God’s amazing love is full of grace, mercy, and it is FOREVER. UNCONDITIONAL. It is from everlasting to everlasting. NOTHING can separate you from His love!

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,¬†39¬†nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

If you are dating, engaged or married, this amazing love still applies to you. All you have to do is ask. All you have to do is come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. It is a gift. It is free. It is available for all.

“if¬†you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and¬†believe in your heart¬†that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10¬†For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Romans 10:8-9

This love is better ¬†than any love a man/woman can give you. This love is greater than that of a parent and child. This love is beyond anything we can imagine. God’s love is never ending. God can truly¬†fulfill¬†1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.¬†2¬†And if I have¬†prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith,¬†so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.¬†3¬†If I give away all I have, and¬†if I deliver up my body to be burned,¬†but have not love, I gain nothing.4¬†Love is patient and¬†kind; love¬†does not envy or boast; it¬†is not arrogant¬†5¬†or rude. It¬†does not insist on its own way; itis not irritable or resentful;¬†6¬†it¬†does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but¬†rejoices with the truth.¬†7¬†Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,¬†endures all things.8¬†Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.¬†9¬†For¬†we know in part and we prophesy in part,¬†10¬†but¬†when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.11¬†When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.¬†12¬†For¬†now we see in a mirror dimly, but¬†then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as¬†I have been fully known.13¬†So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13

This passage is everything that the human heart desires. The truth is no matter how amazing your children, your significant other, your parents, you friends, your family are, they cannot compare to the love of Christ. Human love will fail. God’s love never will.
