Ok, so far this week has been pretty good, and yes, its only Tuesday. Andrew has been working at home the past couple of days, which is nice for me. I enjoy when I can take comfort in knowing he is here if I need him :-) Lakeview Baptist, our former church and where Andrew went to seminary, is having a North American Missions festival this week. He was asked to talk at it, and has done well so far. He is speaking to everyone today and I know he will do great. I am very proud of him! And hey, we get free food for both lunch and dinner, so that is pretty awesome too! Tomorrow, at work, we get free good at lunch because we are having a “lunch and learn.” Then, we will come back down for the dinner portion of the conference and get free food again. So, I must say, the break from cooking has been nice!
The other day while I was reading the Bible, I read a verse that many of us are familiar with, but it struck me extra hard that day. It is found in 2 Peter. Here is the verse. Now, I know that God knows everything and in a way has “chosen” those to either accept his word, or deny it, HOWEVER, we as humans do not know WHO those people are! We need to be out there seeking them out, being a light to them, sharing Christ with them. This verse shows the love God has for us, even though we are all sinners. He does desire ALL to come to know him. This gives us a pretty big task, huh? Andrew and I have really been praying and seeking ways to reach out to others more, sharing our faith. It is pretty neat when you use even little opportunities to share with people. The other day we chatted with our waiter and joked with him, then invited him to Journey, gave him an invite card and said we hoped to get to know him better. You could tell he was very amazed about being invited! He was reading the card as we were leaving, so I truly hope he comes. Pray for that please. Some people that is all it takes, is asking. I am also really trying to use an opportunity with a girl I know at a store I go to a lot. I am hoping to take her to breakfast one morning so I can share more in depth with her. Please pray for that also. So, read that verse and think how YOU can help those come to repentence. God loves us all and wants us all as His children. . .remember this little silly quote “We seem to find a whole lot more of the elect when we are looking for them.” Just because God knows who his people are, doesn’t mean we do. We need to constantly be looking for ways to share! Be praying for Andrew and I as we both continue seeking ways to do this more as well. God Bless!
