Well, Christmas has passed again for another year. It was actually quite nice! We had a nice time with family, good food, good dessert. I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a great time with their family. I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating what Christmas really means, remembered it, treasured it and shared Christ’s love with others. I know that our family did. One way my mother showed that love was a gift she gave me for Christmas. One that to me, is priceless, and very special. It is the nativity set my grandmother carved. It is an absolutely amazing set. Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus in a manger, the angel, 3 shepherds, 2 sheep, 3 wiseman and their 3 camels, the donkey and an ox. The pieces are not small by any means. The camels probably are about 7 inches long by 5 inches high, if not more. All the pieces but the angel and the manger are carved from beautiful red mahogany, I believe, the other 2 pieces are out of a white wood. I don’t even want to know how much it is worth, because to me, its priceless. It was one that my mom and dad used to put up every Christmas. So, my mom giving it to me was so special! I cried. It was a part of my dad’s life, and now it is part of our family. I was very blessed and thankful my mom gave that to me. So, Christmas was wonderful for us
We even busted out old cassette, yes cassette, tapes of me when I was 1 or 2 years old singing songs with my mom. My mom sounds SOOOO texan! We were all giggling about her accent she had back then. You can still tell she is from Texas, but NOT that much!! hahaha. There was also a tape of my mom singing and my dad playing the piano that I REALLY hope we can get into my computer somehow. That was really cool to hear my dad playing piano and special to me that Andrew heard him, even though he is no longer with us. He also said goodbye on the tape. So, hearing my dad’s voice got me a little choked up, but it was an incredible bonding time for me, my mom and my sister.
I hope that everyone elses Christmas held special memories too! Just as the nativity passed down to me was priceless, so are we to Christ. So priceless that Jesus was born to die for us. THAT my friends, is amazing love! Have a Happy New Year and God bless!
