Sick

Well, I have been sick for the past couple of days and it, well, stinks!  Which makes me think. . .would you want to walk around sick all the time?  Can you imagine never being able to eat solid food, always having the yucky feeling in your tummy?  Well, I would for one, HATE IT!  However, we as sinners were born into this world sick.  Not the kind of sick where we may throw up at any given moment, but sick just the same, and in a far worse way.  Sin is like having a “permanent stomach ache”, something that is constantly there, harming you and keeping you from life.  But guess what?  There is a cure for the “stomach ache” called sin!!!  His name is Jesus Christ!  God sent His only son, Jesus, into the world to heal our bodies of this wretched diesease.  If you truly believe in His name, accepting Him into your life, repenting and seeking forgiveness for living a life of “sickness”, He is TOTALLY faithful to heal you!  How cool is that?  And Jesus healing our sickness called sin requires no grody tasting medicine to make you better. . .YAY!!!  Sure, sin will still plague us during this lifetime, just as we all become physically ill at times in our life.  The good news though, is that with Jesus Christ we know we have a remedy that works, one which is consistent and will NEVER fail us!  Even doctors and medicines can sometimes not work in the way we expect to make us feel better, but with Jesus Christ, we know that as soon as we seek to be healed of sin, we will be!  No questions, No worries, No fears. . .we can always have confidence in Christ!  ALWAYS!  I know this may have been a somewhat strange blog, but I was just thinking that because I feel so grody right now, I cannot imagine living a life of permanent sickness.  If we don’t want our physical bodies to constantly be sick, why would we want our spirtual bodies sick all the time (especially since spiritual sickness can sometimes affect our physical well being)?  It is truly amazing what Christ did for our sickness called sin, and it is within the grasp of each and every one of us!  I just think how amazing God’s love is because I am so undeserving of all He has given me, all He has forgiven me for, and yet, He did and He has, and He will continue to do so.  It baffles me really.  So, just a thought by Emily for the day.  If you enjoy being physically well, imagine how much more you would enjoy being spiritually well. . .and all it takes is Jesus Christ! :-)
